Future business will be generated through innovation and AI technologies

Hewlett Packard Enterprise, operated by Selectium (part of the Midis Group), played an important part in the signing of a key Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Post of Slovenia (the countries’ national post service) during this year’s HPE Discover 2019 conference in Las Vegas in June. Ernest Sales and Iztok Klančnik from Selectium were present at HPE Discover to put their seal of approval on the MoU. The MoU encourages collaboration between Post of Slovenia and HPE in the field of AI, among other innovations and activities.

The postal service has established a unique technological hub – the Post of Slovenia Research Cloud – to foster innovation in cloud services and improve connectivity among different entities. The Research Cloud enables and fosters knowledge and technology transfer between public research organizations, universities, start-ups, SMEs and large corporations, policy makers, and all the other players that are interested in innovation and new businesses.

The initiative also focuses on supporting and promoting research, development and innovation in Europe, mainly covering artificial intelligence and machine learning. The Memorandum of Understanding provides a basis for cooperation between Post of Slovenia and HPE around:

1. Innovative Solutions Development

Expand and accelerate business pipelines, capturing innovation waves and opportunities. Contribute to the co-development of solutions and/or building blocks to be used in potential projects, as a combination of mutual capabilities.

2. Knowledge Sharing

Utilize extensive Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) industry knowledge and technology development to support the initiative and further activities of the Post of Slovenia Research Cloud.

3. Cloud28+

Contribute to HPE Cloud28+ through active engagement and usage of the platform through publishing offerings and articles on Cloud28+ on a regular basis, as well as utilization of Cloud28+ methodologies for demand-generation, namely Spotlight pages, eCampaigns and Lead Generation Campaigns.

The Post of Slovenia Research Cloud is in its early stages, but the goal is to expand. The initial set of R&D projects and entities using the Post of Slovenia Research Cloud covers Europe, but is already expanding globally: Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, China, USA.

Working together, HPE and Post of Slovenia have a winning opportunity to transform industries and lives. The new agreement around R&D projects and entities, part of the Post of Slovenia Research Cloud, puts the partnership on the right track to enact digital transformation in Europe.
