The event comprised two main phases: the exclusive Government Leadership and AI Summit (August 31-September 1, in Abuja), focusing on digital and AI governance, and the GITEX Nigeria Tech Expo (September 2-3, in Lagos), the largest tech gathering in West Africa with over 200 exhibitors across various industries. Midis Group was pleased to serve as the Emerging Technologies Partner for the four-day event.
On September 3 at the Tech Expo, Midis Group led the industry conversation with an executive-level roundtable, Building Nigeria’s Trusted Digital Economy — Securing the AI-Driven Enterprise: Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & Resilience. The executive-level, market-relevant conversation addressed the priorities of organizations across financial services, government, telecommunications, energy, healthcare, and other critical sectors in Nigeria and the wider African market.
A big question was the catalyst for the roundtable: ‘How can Nigerian organizations accelerate AI adoption while building the infrastructure, cybersecurity, data protection and resilience required to create a trusted digital economy?’
As the Roundtable kicked off, everyone was welcomed by moderator, Osato Agubata, Service Sales Manager, HPE operated by Selectium, who made opening remarks and set the tone for the discussion to come. Osato was followed by her colleague from HPE, Oludare Ishola, who presented about AI-Ready Infrastructure, Secure Hybrid Cloud, Edge-to-Cloud Operations & Infrastructure Resilience.
Cheikhouna Diop from IBM operated by MIBB followed with his talk about AI-Powered Cybersecurity, Threat Detection & Response, Trusted AI, Data Security & Governance. Next, there was a change of direction to a discussion about Secure Private Cloud, Workload Protection, Private AI, Zero Trust & Application Modernization, led by speaker from VMware, Emmanuel Adeogun.
Albert Truter, Senior Sales Engineer, Africa from Quest Software, then explored Trusted Data, Identity Security, Identity Threat Detection & Response, Governance & Cyber Recovery. His contribution was followed by Herve Evonlah, Regional Manager West and French Speaking Africa at Cohesity, talking about the importance of AI-Powered Data Security, Data Protection, Threat Detection, Cyber Recovery & Enterprise AI Resilience Across Hybrid, Cloud & SaaS Environments.
A final word came again from Osato Agubata, along with a Q&A session to round off the event.
